Ivy and Kudzu Removal
We use a variation of techniques to control and eradicate ivy and kudzu. Our systematic approach ensures minimal herbicide use and maximum reduction of redeveloping of vines.
English ivy has the ability to take over whole acres of native forest without controlling it. English ivy will vine up native trees adding a lot of extra weight. Add more weight from rain and a little wind, a native tree will be sure to fall. English ivy will also inhibit photosynthesis once leaves are covered
Wildflower and Native Grass Planting
Welcome pollinators of all kinds into your garden. By turning your space into a micro -prairie you can produce a colorful buffet for all pollinators to enjoy.
Native Forest Restoration offers different ways to develop your micro-prairie. Based on budget and time of year you wish to have your micro-prairie installed, only certain options are recommended.
Choose a Custom Seed Mix
Customize your prairie seed mix by choosing from an array of colors that will thrive by selecting native wildflower and grasses. Factors such as soil condition, wildlife, and sun exposure will help us customize your seed mix for the best results.
Planting plugs
An option to expedite your wildflower prairie is to plant grass and wildflower plugs that are already in their first year of growth. By planting wildflowers and grasses that have already been growing, establishment will take a season less than starting from seed.
The process of skipping a year to establish a micro-prairie is a costly one compared to seed. Typically costing 5 times as much to install initially, this is more suitable for small and medium yards and spaces.
Why Plant a Wildflower Prairie in Atlanta?
Native perennial flowers and grasses are a key component to the biodiversity of our native insects and animals. With less and less space available for native wildflowers and grasses to grow, it is crucial we restore the piedmont prairie lands wherever we can.
